To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that’s a full day. That’s a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you’re going to have something special.

The number of NCAA Men’s basketball national championships UCLA has won - next is Kentucky (8), North Carolina (6), and Duke and Indiana with 5 each. (NCAA)

On the Women’s side, Connecticut also has 11 championships, followed by Tennessee (8), and Baylor and Stanford with 3 each. South Carolina, Notre Dame, Louisiana Tech and USC all have 2…for now. At 32-0, the betting money is divided between South Carolina and the field.

Inspiration | Jim Valvano

It’s been 40 years since the epic finish with NC State upsetting Houston for the national title - leading to Jim Valvano running around on the court looking for someone to hug.

Nine years later, in 1992, Coach Valvano was diagnosed with metastatic adenocarcinoma - an aggressive cancer that spread to the bones.

A year later, he created the V Foundation for Cancer Research. Since 1993, the V Foundation has raised over $250 million and for the past 10 years has been awarded a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator - only the top 2% of charities earn this level.

Much of this success came from one of the most famous sport speeches when Coach Valvano took the stage at the ESPY’s - “Don’t Give Up…Don’t Ever Give Up.”

Even if you’ve already seen it - it’s a speech worth revisiting to come back to what’s most important in your life:

Coach Valvano passed away just six weeks after the speech - but his energy and his legacy lives on.

Brain Games | Use All Your Senses

Go bake a batch of cookies or a cake, try out a new restaurant, go foraging in the forest. Find an activity that can simultaneously use your senses of taste, smell, sight, hearing and touch.

Why: Strengthen your brain and be more present

Inspiration: Spring

Thanks for another great week! No song this week - instead you can enjoy the greatest endings for March Madness games from the last 10 years. Enjoy!
