Focus

The “AgeTech” Market

I just spent the past week in LA meeting with some really incredible founders and investors in the health & longevity space.

What’s crazy is how fast this market is growing.

In just the past few years investors have pumped billions of dollars into “longevity” drugs and therapeutics to find the fountain of youth.

But it’s not just about trying to live longer - we have to think about what happens when we do live longer.

The changing demographics are a big deal (see Stat of the Day).

There’s now an “AgeTech” market that is approaching $1 trillion to support the 50+ population.

Our healthcare system is keeping us alive - but isn’t helping with our quality of life.

That’s up to us.

Listen To

Prof Scott G - Be More Social

Scott Galloway has built up a cult following for his raw, honest takes on - well just about everything. He talks about the market, politics, the potential Tik Tok bank, and even his recent ketamine trip he experienced while in Austin for SXSW.

I really appreciated the intro to this pod where Scott goes on a rant about how we need to drastically re-think how we spend our time - get off the phone and actually start interacting with our fellow humans again.

Bike Copenhagen

I’ve recently been out practicing bike riding with my kids - my 3-yr old is obsessed and wants to go on rides before and after school everyday.

Hope that continues - but we sure don’t make it easy in the U.S.

But how about a city where everyone bikes? The city is Copenhagen, where bicycles reign supreme.

Doesn’t matter the weather or where you’re going - everyone there does it on a bike. No screaming and getting the middle finger from angry drivers as you bike between amazing history and lush green parks on the city’s many scenic trails.

Maybe we’re not all ready to bike in 30° snow with $300 worth of food from Whole Foods - but I think it’s about time we make a real push to get our cities to prioritize biking. We need more bike paths, more bike safety, and more investment in making this a way to get around.

Until then, go join some new friends in Denmark on a bike.

And don’t forget the cuisine. Take a pit stop at one of Copenhagen's quaint cafés or street food markets, where you can refuel with a steaming cup of coffee, indulge in mouthwatering Danish pastries or have some Frikadeller (Issue #319). Plan your trip to Copenhagen!

Brain Games

Kyudoku

Now this is a fun one - remember it’s really important for your brain to learn new games!

In this 6x6 grid, you need to use logic to the find nine unique number (1 to 9) so that each row and column has a sum of 9 or less. It’s kinda like sudoku, but with more distractions. The 4 highlighted in yellow is given.

Since it’s our first time, here’s a little help. Because we know 4 is given, we can’t use 4 again (gray boxes below) and we can also eliminate any numbers that would make the sum of the row or column with the given 4 more than 9 (blue boxes). Have fun and use that brain!

** Brain Games Answer **

Here’s the answer. We find it useful to target the higher numbers (9, 8, 7) in the grid first as they can “bust” a row or column easier than smaller numbers (1, 2, 3).
