I don’t have plans to slow down. I think slowing down happens to us anyway, whether we plan to or not. So why plan it?
— John Williams

Average age of the top 10 highest paid actors over the last decade (although I’m not sure how 64-yr old Jackie Chan made the list). This doesn’t even include Tom Hanks (66), Brad Pitt (59), Daniel Day-Lewis (66), Denzel Washington (68), or Samuel L. Jackson (74). (See List of Top 10)

Inspiration

At a recent concert by the New York Philharmonic they played the opening scenes of “Raiders of the Lost Ark”…but without the music.

What a great way to highlight just how important music is in movies - especially those with a score from John Williams

At the age of 91 years young, Williams just finished his latest project Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

His first film was back in 1958 - that’s a lot of years to bring magic to the world.

As a kid, I never got into most sci-fi. But for some reason I was obsessed with Star Wars - maybe it was the good vs. evil or it just might have had something to do with the masterful music.

All of us recognize his work - whether the deadly two chords whenever we think of sharks (Jaws), what we hear in our heads when someone says Jurassic Park, or the original Superman.

The list goes on and on with movies like E.T., Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan, Harry Potter, Catch Me If You Can, and all the new Star Wars movies.

Without John Williams, bikes don’t really fly, nor do brooms in Quidditch matches, nor do men in red capes. There is no Force. Dinosaurs do not walk the earth. We do not wonder, we do not weep, we do not believe. John, you breathe belief into every film we have made.
— Steven Spielberg

Right there with Williams in the new Indiana Jones movie is 80-yr old Harrison Ford. The guy is still a bad ass.

An example of his commitment to staying active - after finishing an overnight shoot for the new Indy movie - at 5am Ford got on his mountain bike for a ho-hum 50km ride.

According to his co-star Mads Mikkelsen, “Harrison is an insanely powerful person…a monster of a man, a very nice monster.”

He eats mostly fish and veggies, while playing tennis and obviously biking. He apparently did get a few injuries on the set of the movie. He might not be Tom Cruise - but he’s known to do his own stunts.

And no - he doesn’t have Parkinson’s (as depicted on the show Shrinking) - he’s just a damn good actor. And he’s been doing it for a long, long time.
